I love these pretty, white porcelain plates with their scalloped edges. This size is perfect for anything from toast and eggs in the morning, to a sandwich at lunch, to pastries at teatime, and rolls, crudités or desserts at dinner. For dieting, this 7.5" size is perfect for a whole meal -- I can eat as much as fits on the plate for each meal. (Don't laugh; it works!)These are sturdy and they're dishwasher and microwave safe.Lenox included a registration card in my box that comes with "breakage replacement" privileges to save 50% on replacement pieces."Butterfly Meadow" box with blue, pink, yellow and green flowers and butterflies motif is lovely for gift giving.Beautiful. Love the soft green color, not mint more of blue green. So pretty, I love using them and looking at them sitting in my hutch. ?The bowls are adorable. A little small for cereal bowls imo, but lovely for smaller servings. The design is pretty with the scalloped edges. They're a rather light and duller blue than I had hoped for, but overall, I do really like them. Was so excited to find these on Amazon since Lenox discontinued them!I ordered two sets of 4 and every plate had a different degree of scalloping around the edges. Only one actually looked like the pictures. Most of them barely had a scallop at all. It was disappointing. There is also a ripple in the center of the plates where the glaze didn't float evenly. I would expect so much more form Lenox. The Lenox American by Design butterfly meadow colors mugs are an interesting addition to the butterfly meadow collection. The color and design of the mint “colors” mugs integrate well with other butterfly meadow pieces. However, these two tiers down in quality from top-of-the-line Lenox made in the USA pieces, with the middle tier being those made in Indonesia. USA-made pieces have more translucence, smoother edges, and are more resistant to scratches in the clear coating. These mugs have fluting coming up from the base to the lip of the mug, and two piece scroll design handles that give a nice design presentation. However, although the mugs are described as porcelain, the weight and manufacturing quality bears more resemblance to stoneware than to fine porcelain. These mugs are each 276 grams, whereas the comparable 12 oz. made in Indonesia white butterfly meadow mugs we already had in our collection are 183 grams. Neither mug version holds the advertised 12 ounces, but the white porcelain mugs come very close. The weight difference between the made and China colors mugs and the white porcelain mugs comes from the thickness of the mugs. Side by side, these mugs are noticeably thicker and also have small workmanship defects that I don’t find in the made in USA or made in Indonesia pieces (e.g. pieces of excess porcelain not cleaned up along the handle, bubbled clear coating, a gritty texture noticeable below the clear coating, etc.).Overall, the mugs are cute, but not pieces that a knowledgeable butterfly meadow collector would recognize as naturally belonging in the collection. So far so good. I like the color, very French Provençal, or very early American, the style is neither though which is unfortunate to me but not a big deal, especially since at the time I got these the price came to less than $8 per mug which I think is a good price. The have microwaved and dishwashered quite well and seem nice quality, Lenox is a good name brand. I like the volume they hold, more than the coffee cups that came with our Pottery Barn dish set. We use mugs for two things the first of which is tea. The other is we microwave soups and spaghetti o's in them, and the size of these is nice, half a can of tomato soup with rom to dip grilled cheese sandwiches or half a can of spaghetti o's with room to add sliced hot dogs. Also, when these first arrived, I was still on my diet and I used these for microwaving my Medifast meal replacements in. The meals are high protein and this always left concrete like food film behind in the mugs I used, tough to wash, but the Lenox mugs released the stuff a lot easier than all my other mugs. These are a like for me, not a love, but still recommend as I think they are quality at a good price.Medium-size dinner plates from Lenox. Despite the flowery box and this product line's other colorful meadow-themed accessories, these plates are thankfully untroubled by cutesy graphics. The rippled outer edges are the only concession to the Meadow theme. The heft is good: medium weight, not flimsy, with a nice even glaze. The plates are a little on the small side for dinner, with a shallow depth suitable to hold drippings or sauces. Silverware doesn't drag funny across the glaze, and the dishes are microwave and dishwasher safe. Vendors who still sell everyday dishes that can't be used with common kitchen appliances befuddle me, I'm glad Lenox has moved past that. The medium size, slight depth, and lack of frippery makes these plates generally useful, even though they adhere to the Lenox tradition of a high per-unit price. Recommended for a prettier-than-usual basic white plate.Goes with my Lenox Butterfly Meadow china ware
