Thin with a beautiful wash. Sounds unique in a room and fantastic with overhead mics. Explodes off the stick for accents with a quick decay but can also be ridden. 17in makes a fantastic addition to any setup, just be sure this is the sound you are desiring. Check out the Dream website for audio recordings of each item in their lineup if you need help deciding.I was attempting to pair this with an A Zildjian 17 inch thin crash to make a giant hi hat. Either one of the cymbals was a bit bigger than 17 inches or one was a bit smaller!!! The two cymbals were a bit off in size which caused the cymbals to sit together in a way that didn't work as a hi hat pair. Keep in mind, both are great sounding thin crashes, they just didn't match up in size.I bought this to complement an 18' Bliss Paper Thin Crash I use as main crash. I'm impressed at how effortless these cymbals are at providing you true musical expression. Well done Dream!High quality at a reasonable cost.Show after show great sounding cymbals. Had to fly low one live show because Fed Ex Dropped The Ball and my package was missing. Hummmm?$*&#???lie,Lie,Lie. Fed Ex blamed AZ by saying that the package wasnt packaged correctly causing the items to vanish into thin air....Right@! Lie Lie Lie. FED EX needs to watch their sticky finger employeeI was reluctant to order a cymbal on-line without hearing it in person. I did as much homework as I could with on-line reviews and watched every you tube video out there. This cymbal sounds great and looks beautiful!! It has a quick attack with a fast decay and sounds great!! I would highly recommend Dream cymbals!Great sounding crash!Works exactly as described, has great attack, long decay and brilliant tone.Great value fir a great cymbal. I will buy more of this line.
